GNU ccAudio2
Historical overview of GNU ccAudio2, the C++ audio processing framework used for telephony audio files, sample formats, codecs, and voice-oriented stream operations.
Historical Component and Revival Candidate
This page preserves the ccAudio2 project identity and its historical package references. Current support and a modern repository will be announced as the GNU Telephony revival is defined.
§1Project Overview
GNU ccAudio2 was a portable C++ class framework for working with telephony audio. It provided reusable interfaces for audio files, sample formats, codecs, and stream-oriented processing needed by voice applications in the wider GNU Telephony ecosystem.
The library belonged to the same family of reusable system components as GNU Common C++, GNU uCommon, GNU ccRTP, and GNU Bayonne. Distribution packaging and review records identify ccAudio2 as a distinct upstream component rather than a generic download alias.
§2Historical Packaging and Releases
Surviving Linux distribution records reference the 2.1.x release series, source RPM packages, package specification files, and the historical `dev.gnutelephony.org` distribution service.
These references are being catalogued for preservation. Original artifacts will be restored at their historical URLs when a trustworthy copy and its provenance can be verified.
§3Open-Source Revival
TwoSquares is preparing a community-driven open-source revival of GNU Telephony. ccAudio2 is being assessed as a historical component and possible source of reusable design and compatibility work.
Developers and package maintainers with original ccAudio2 source archives, specifications, build knowledge, or distribution history are invited to contact TwoSquares through the main project website.
